哈利波特与魔法石《Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone》原声大碟
电影的配乐主旋律是明亮昂扬的浪漫主义管弦乐，但几首关联伏地魔的曲子均显出二十世纪现代古典乐的反悦耳、无调性特质。这一方面是出于契合角色和场景，另一方面也是在预示整个哈利波特系列的暗黑走向，为第二、三部的音乐发展做出铺垫。
在“先导动机”方面，威廉姆斯也根据影片内容做出发展。本片仍以Hedwig’s Theme开头，只是节奏更缓慢，色彩更幽暗。然而纵观全片，Hedwig’s Theme不再是哈利的核心先导动机，取而代之的是A Window to The Past。威廉姆斯再次使用了古乐器，写出了一段颇具爱尔兰民谣韵味的直笛独奏。这是前三部哈利波特电影中最忧郁抒情的乐段，描摹哈利在《阿兹卡班》中逐渐接近父母死亡真相的过程。曲子中段，随着竖琴的加入，乐曲由独奏转为管弦乐，情感更趋饱满，更多起伏，映射出哈利正在仇恨的阴影中经历着灵魂的搏杀。
